The Magformers My First 54 set comprises 54 magnetic pieces of five different polygons in bright crayon colours.
This is an excellent set to introduce pre-school children and EYFs pupils to shapes and their properties, with 24 squares, 12 triangles, 6 rectangles, 6 rhombus (diamonds), 6 trapezoids. Plus, learning assets include a colourful themed Model Booklet with construction ideas and double-sided layout cards.
While fun and creative to play with, this set has additional educational play value. The combination of pieces makes it perfect to support EYFs and Ks1 maths and geometry learning as it makes numerous 2D nets and their corresponding 3D polyhedra, including tetrahedrons, cubes, cuboids, prisms, pyramids...and even a rhombicuboctahedron.
Magformers pieces feature high-quality barrel magnets safely sealed in every magnetic piece. Crucially, because the magnets rotate, opposite poles always connect, making model-building frustration-free for children – especially when making 3D models directly from planar nets.
